Two screens from one USB-C port
This is the question that produces the most returns, and the answer is almost never about the hub. A single USB-C port carries video by borrowing DisplayPort lanes, which is called DisplayPort Alt Mode. How many independent screens come out of those lanes is decided by the laptop and its graphics driver, not by how many HDMI sockets the hub has on it.

MST is the multi-stream feature that splits one DisplayPort connection into several independent displays. DisplayLink is a different mechanism entirely: it compresses video and sends it as USB data, which works almost anywhere and costs some processor time. Neither is a property of the hub you buy: they are properties of the machine and its driver.

"4K at 60 Hz" appears only where the manufacturer states it in those words. Where a listing says just "4K", check the hertz on its own spec sheet before buying it to work on. Why does my hub say 4K but the picture stutters?
