nexos.ai: what it is, what it costs in the UK, how its credits work and when it costs less than two AI subscriptions

nexos.ai, the AI platform for teams
nexos.ai icon

nexos.ai puts more than 200 AI models behind one account, in two products: an AI Workspace for business teams at $39 a month (about £29.44) and an AI Gateway for developers, paid per use plus a 5% fee. It is a separate company founded in late 2024 by the two co-founders of Nord Security.

AI subscription cost calculator: what your team pays per month and per year

Most people weighing up nexos.ai are doing one sum: does a single platform cost less than what the team pays today? This calculator from m8d.io has the UK prices of ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI already in, each with its source and date, and adds them up per person and for the whole team. Worked out for the most common case: one person paying ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro pays £39.99 a month at UK App Store prices, £10.55 more than the one-month nexos.ai plan at £29.44, before any VAT nexos.ai may add. Free, no account.

With what you have ticked, one subscription comes out cheaper than the sum, and that is the sum behind the case for a single platform. Before you switch, check that the models you really use are in its catalogue, and ask in writing how many seats the plan covers.

£39.99 per person − £29.44 = £10.55 a month, before any VAT nexos.ai may add

UK prices read on 28 September 2026: ChatGPT Go and Plus, and Claude Pro (monthly, or £199.99 a year paid upfront), as listed for in-app purchase in the UK App Store (apps.apple.com/gb); Google AI Plus and Pro on one.google.com with the United Kingdom selected; and the one-month plan of nexos.ai on nexos.ai/pricing, which publishes it in US dollars: $39 is £29.44 at the Bank of England spot rate of 25 September 2026 ($1.3246 to the pound). The price on each provider's own website can differ from the in-app price. nexos.ai does not say how many people the plan covers or whether VAT is added, so the comparison is per person. Its other product, the AI Gateway, has no subscription: it is paid per use plus a 5% platform fee, which is a different sum and does not belong here.

What is nexos.ai, and is it part of NordVPN?

nexos.ai is not another chatbot: it is the layer that sits under several of them. Its own description comes in two halves, and telling them apart is half the decision. The AI Gateway gives developers one OpenAI-compatible endpoint to more than 200 models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral and others, with routing between them, spend controls and a record of every request. The AI Workspace puts those same models in front of a business team to write, research, analyse and automate, without anyone handling an API key.

The feature it names most is agents: you describe a repetitive job in plain language, the platform proposes the initial setup and you adjust it without writing code. It can generate reports and presentations automatically and connect to the tools where a team's knowledge already lives. That is its ground: internal documentation and recurring work, not the odd question.

Whether it is part of NordVPN is a fair question, and the company answers it on its about page: nexos.ai was founded by Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas, who also co-founded Nord Security, and the two companies are separate and independently operated within the Tesonet group of Vilnius, which also incubated Oxylabs; nexos.ai says it is not owned by NordVPN or Nord Security. The same page gives late 2024 as its founding date and more than $43 million raised across a 2025 seed round and a Series A (nexos.ai/about-us, read on 28 September 2026).

The small print

What 1,000 nexos.ai credits buy, and why its documentation talks about 3,000 per seat

One plan, two credit figures on the company's own pages

Credits are the unit the Workspace plan is sold in, and they are where two official pages from the same company do not say the same thing. That matters before paying for a team, because it decides what the $39 actually covers.

What the pricing page says
The one-month plan at $39 includes 1,000 monthly credits, plus bonus credits (nexos.ai/pricing, read on 28 September 2026).
What its documentation says
Each purchased seat includes up to 3,000 credits per month per seat, unless otherwise agreed, and extra usage may need more credits or a bigger plan (docs.nexos.ai/models/limitations, 28 September 2026). Its guide to credits adds that each request is charged by tokens at the rate of the model you pick, with cached input around ten times cheaper than fresh input (nexos.ai/blog/nexos-ai-credits).
What it means for your bill
A credit is not a message: a short question on a light model uses a fraction of what a long report on a premium model uses. The plan page and the documentation also count differently, one per plan and one per seat. Neither page gives a price per extra credit, so that is the third question to ask.

m8d rule: When an AI plan is sold in credits, ask two things in writing before you buy for a team: how many credits one seat gets a month, and whether the price is per seat. The answer changes the sum more than the headline price does.

How much does nexos.ai cost in the UK? The two published prices and the one that is not

There are two ways to pay and they do not compete. The Workspace has a one-month plan at $39 that renews at $39, with a 14-day money-back guarantee. The Gateway has no subscription: you pay the model provider's rate plus a 5% platform fee, from a $5 top-up and with no commitment. Both are published in US dollars, so the pound figure moves with the exchange rate: $39 was £29.44 at the Bank of England spot rate of 25 September 2026, and neither page says whether VAT is added.

The third price is not published, and it is worth knowing before you sit down to compare: the FAQ mentions a 12-month plan with a discount on the monthly one, but its amount is not on the pricing page, which only shows the one-month plan. Enterprise is not published either: it is custom and goes through sales.

The line that decides

Does nexos.ai keep your data in the EU, and what does that mean for a UK company under UK GDPR?

EU hosting is covered for UK companies, and 'supported models' is the word that matters

For a UK company the location of the data is not a brochure detail: it decides whether the supplier gets through the data protection review. The UK side of the answer is simple, and the nexos.ai side needs one word read carefully.

What UK law says
All EEA countries have full adequacy under the UK adequacy regulations, so personal data can flow from the UK to them without extra safeguards, according to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, international transfers guidance, read on 28 September 2026).
What reads first
An EU-hosted gateway for Claude, GPT, Gemini and Mistral, with zero data retention and no training on your data.
What its EU gateway page says in full
That the models with EU hosting have names, from four providers: Claude Opus, Sonnet, Haiku and Fable on Vertex AI EU, GPT-5, GPT-4.1 and GPT-4o on Azure EU, Gemini 2.5 and 3.5 on Vertex AI EU, and Codestral, Devstral and Mistral models on Mistral AI EU. That zero retention applies to supported models, marked model dependent in its own table, and that limited personal and operational data may be retained under its Terms of Use. It also states SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification (nexos.ai/eu-gateway, 28 September 2026). So the catalogue of more than 200 models and the list that stays in the EU are two different lists.

m8d rule: EU hosting is enough for UK GDPR only for the part of the service that really stays in the EU. Ask for the list of models that are served from EU infrastructure with zero data retention, by name, before you sign.

Is nexos.ai any good? What can be checked today and what cannot

It is a platform founded in late 2024, and that shapes the answer: there is no body of independent user opinion yet large enough for a reliable average score, so treat any star rating with care. What does exist is material you can check, as long as you know where it comes from.

Its reviews page carries seven testimonials with a name, a job title and a company. Two come with figures: the CMO of the Lithuanian retailer Pigu.lt says optimising one catalogue item is 99.8% cheaper than doing it by hand, and the head of product of Hostinger Horizons says the integration saved the equivalent of two yearly salaries in development cost. To weigh them, it helps to know that two of the seven are from Nord Security and NordVPN, and one from Oxylabs, companies that the nexos.ai about page places in the same Tesonet group; the about page shows nine testimonials, four of them from the Nord companies (nexos.ai/reviews and nexos.ai/about-us, 28 September 2026). That is not a criticism: it is information the company itself publishes.

What can be checked in one click are the fittings. The gateway is OpenAI-compatible, so trying it means changing a URL rather than rewriting code; and with a $5 top-up on one product and a 14-day refund window on the other, finding out whether it works for your case costs less than reading more opinions.

Who nexos.ai is not for

When it does not pay off, with the sum in front of you
  • If you pay for one AI subscription. ChatGPT Plus is £19.99 a month in the UK App Store, below the £29.44 of the nexos.ai monthly plan before any VAT it may add. Switching means paying at least that much more in exchange for control, and one person rarely needs that control.
  • If you want the best model for one specific job. A layer that gathers models earns its keep when there are several uses and several people; for a single use, subscribing to that model directly is simpler.
  • If you need every model kept in the EU. The EU-hosted list is four providers and named model families, and zero retention is model dependent, in its own words.
  • If you have to fix the annual budget before trying it. The 12-month price is not published and Enterprise goes through sales.
  • If your accounts cannot take charges in US dollars. Both published prices are in dollars, and the pound figure moves with the exchange rate.

m8d verdict

This is the one we recommend when each person on your team already pays for two AI subscriptions, because that is where today's sum passes the price of this plan, as the calculator on this page shows with UK prices. With one subscription, no: then you are not buying a saving, you are buying control, and that only pays off with several people on different models.

What you should know
  • Its published price is a flat monthly fee in US dollars, and it renews at the same fee. The pricing page shows it in dollars (nexos.ai/pricing, read on 28 September 2026), so the pound figure moves with the exchange rate, and the page does not say whether VAT is added for a UK buyer. The figure, converted at the Bank of England rate, is in the price section of this page.
  • What the plan lists, on that same page: unlimited AI agents, 200+ models, 1,000 monthly credits plus bonus credits, connections to the tools a team already uses, and AI slides, files and charts.
  • The guarantee is 14 days: its FAQ says you can cancel within 14 days of purchase from the Billing section. There is no free trial, so any page that still mentions one is out of date.
  • How many people the plan covers is not written anywhere on the pricing page, which calls both the 1-month and 12-month plans a fit for individuals or small to medium-sized teams. Its documentation, on the other hand, counts credits per purchased seat. Ask before you pay for a team.
+Pros
  • More than 200 models behind one subscription
  • Agents described in plain language and adjusted without code
  • 14-day money-back guarantee stated on its pricing page
  • Connects to the work tools a team already uses
−Cons
  • Charged in US dollars, not pounds
  • The pricing page does not say how many people the plan covers
  • The 12-month plan exists, but its price is not published
  • Against a single AI subscription per person, it costs more

m8d verdict

If you connect AI from your own code, we would start here rather than with the other product: there is no subscription, you pay what each request uses plus 5%, and the entry point is a small top-up. It is also the product whose plan comparison lists EU data residency.

What you should know
  • The fee is 5% on top of the model provider's rate, and the company gives the example itself. Its FAQ works it through with a model priced per million tokens: through nexos.ai you pay that rate plus 5% (nexos.ai/pricing, 28 September 2026).
  • No monthly minimum and no commitment: the only minimum is a small top-up that usage is then drawn from. It takes cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay; Enterprise customers can pay by invoice.
  • Switching is one line of code, according to its own pages: the endpoint is OpenAI-compatible, so you change the base URL and the API key and your traffic goes through the gateway.
  • What the 5% pays for, according to that page: smart routing between models, prompt caching, spend controls and budgets, observability of every request and API key management. Bringing your own provider keys is listed as coming soon.
+Pros
  • No monthly subscription: you pay per use
  • OpenAI-compatible endpoint: change one line
  • Budgets, hard caps and per-request observability
  • EU data residency listed in its plan comparison
−Cons
  • The 5% is added to what each model already costs
  • Needs someone who writes code: it is not for a business team
  • Which models are served from the EU depends on provider and deployment

How we checked this, and what is left out

How we know

Everything this page says about nexos.ai comes from its own website, read on 28 September 2026: the pricing page and its FAQ, the EU gateway page, the about page, the reviews page, its guide to credits and its documentation on workspace limits. The link between its founders and Nord Security comes from the nexos.ai about page itself.

The UK prices in the calculator come from official pages read the same day: ChatGPT and Claude as listed for in-app purchase in the UK App Store, because their own pricing pages show the currency of the country you browse from, and Google AI on Google One with the United Kingdom selected. The dollar price of nexos.ai is converted at the Bank of England spot rate of 25 September 2026, the latest published, and the tool says so inside it.

What is left out, said plainly: we do not publish a score for nexos.ai, because there is no volume of independent opinion today to support one. We do not publish the price of the 12-month plan or of Enterprise, because the company does not. And we do not compare the pay-as-you-go gateway with monthly subscriptions: there is no fee to compare, and mixing the two sums would give a false number.

nexos.ai questions asked in the UK
What is nexos.ai?

A platform that puts more than 200 AI models in one place, with two products: a gateway that gives developers one OpenAI-compatible endpoint to those models, with routing, spend controls and a record of every request, and a workspace where a business team uses them to write, research, analyse and build agents without code.

How much does nexos.ai cost in the UK?

The one-month Workspace plan is $39 a month and renews at the same price, with a 14-day money-back guarantee; it is charged in US dollars, which was about £29.44 at the Bank of England rate of 25 September 2026. The Gateway has no subscription: the model provider's rate plus a 5% platform fee, from a $5 top-up. The 12-month plan and Enterprise prices are not published. Prices from nexos.ai/pricing, read on 28 September 2026.

Is nexos.ai related to NordVPN?

Its founders, Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas, also co-founded Nord Security, the company behind NordVPN. According to the nexos.ai about page, the two are separate, independently operated companies within the Tesonet group, and nexos.ai is not owned by NordVPN or Nord Security.

What are nexos.ai credits?

The unit Workspace usage is counted in: one pool that pays for any model, charged by tokens at the rate of the model you choose. The pricing page lists 1,000 monthly credits on the one-month plan, while the documentation says each purchased seat includes up to 3,000 credits a month unless otherwise agreed, so it is worth asking which applies to your team.

Does nexos.ai have a free trial?

No. What it offers is a 14-day money-back guarantee: its FAQ says you can cancel within 14 days of purchase from the Billing section. On the pay-as-you-go Gateway there is no subscription to refund; you start with a $5 top-up.

Is my data kept in the EU, and is that enough under UK GDPR?

For supported models, nexos.ai says requests can run with zero data retention on EU-hosted infrastructure, and that availability varies by provider and deployment. On the UK side, the ICO says every EEA country has full UK adequacy, so data can flow there without extra safeguards. Ask for the list of models that stay in the EU, by name.

How much does an AI subscription cost per month in the UK?

At UK App Store prices on 28 September 2026, ChatGPT Go is £6.99, ChatGPT Plus £19.99 and Claude Pro £20.00 a month; on Google One, Google AI Plus is £4.49 and Google AI Pro £18.99. Paying for ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro together comes to £39.99 a month, above the £29.44 of the nexos.ai monthly plan before any VAT nexos.ai may add, which its page does not state.

nexos.ai solves a real and rather dull problem: in a company, AI ends up as ten separate subscriptions, no view of the spend and no control over which data goes where. If that is your problem, the sum works and the governance is what you are buying. If your problem is which model is best for one task, this is not it. Our advice for deciding without reading one more opinion: the gateway starts with a $5 top-up and the workspace has a 14-day refund window, so trying it costs less than debating it.
